On July 7, 2012, Kari and 2 friends were walking home after enjoying some time at the creek close to home in West Milton, New York.  A drunk driver was also enjoying his day at a graduation party. At 8:33 pm their paths crossed.  The 21 year old drunk driver had left the party after being told that he as too drunk to drive (yet not stopped) and went off the road striking and killing Kari. 
 
Kari was a beautiful, talented 14 year old who was enjoying her summer break between 9th and 10th grade. She loved singing. It didn't matter where she was or who was around, she was singing. She also loved acting in drama and she loved horses. She would go help out at the local horse farms to be able to go riding. She always made sure you knew she was there. She had many friends and a family that love and miss her very much. This is why we Walk. Please join us on September 16, 2017 to support Team Kari and Walk Like MADD.
