Why We Walk

Alexis

Alexis Harley McKinney

Alexis Harley McKinney was killed by a drunk driver July 11, 2012.  She was the youngest of three, a bright beautiful young lady.  The driver was 17 years old at the time of the crash.  He was driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs,  his BAC was greater than .16 at the time of the crash.  This was his second DUI in 3 months.

Alexis was a bright beautiful young lady. She would have been a junior in high school the fall of 2012.

Alexis loved music and played the violin in the orchestra at school.  She was a fun-loving teenager who was also a straight “A” student.

Alexis had so much to look forward to in life, those hopes and dreams were taken away from her a week before her 16th birthday.

We Walk in memory of Alexis to bring awareness of the impact of driving impaired and to stop the senseless loss of life from something that is 100% preventable.

We miss Alexis more and more as the years go by.  Her smile, her laughter, her hugs and kisses.
