Why We Walk - Sean Kruh

Sean was fun loving, a prankster, incredible artist and musician. He was self-taught in guitar and proudly played in a band. He enjoyed skiing, motorcycles, saving the planet and animals. Family meant everything to Sean and his friends were very important to him as well. Being an only child, Sean never hung up the phone without telling his mother Dona that he loved her. Even if they were upset at each other,Dona always made it a point to make sure that Sean knew how much he was loved.

In May of 1999, Sean was out with his good friend at a local bar when he made the decision to be a passenger in his friend’s truck. However the truck’s operator was speeding through winding roads over 100 mph when they missed a right turn and hit a tree, rolling over and killing Sean instantly. Dona spent her life protecting Sean and now he was gone. This May marks the 20th anniversary of Sean’s death. MADD Connecticut is honored to remember Sean Kruh at the 2019 Hartford Walk Like MADD.
