Why We Walk

We walk for our loved ones who have been injured or killed by an impaired driver.  Our family members who are out boating, walking home, ending a day of work, visiting friends, going home after a vacation, riding their bike and their lives have been cut short or they are injured for life.  All of this because of a selfish person who was only thinking of themselves, no consideration of others.  There are so many more options now i.e., a designated driver, cab, taxi, LYFT, a friend, or a family member.  So many choices.  Did they ever stop to think about someone else that could be affected by their actions?  Drinking and driving does not only affect a drunk or drugged driver it affects everyone around them.

We together can stop this madness. If you know someone drinking and driving say something, call 911, do not get in the car with them, take their keys, it is better for them to be mad at you right now then have them end up killing themselves or someone else.  Do the right thing; Friends Don’t Let Friends Drink and Drive.

The pictures below are some of the faces of those that have either been injured or killed by a drunk driver. This is one of the reasons we walk.  The other reason is so your face or your family member’s face are not part of this collage next year.
