 Why We Walk

KIT II, KJ

Hometown: Albuquerque, NM

Crash Anniversary: April 16, 2017

KIT II, KJ was born in Norfolk, Virginia and raised in Albuquerque. He had 4 sisters and a beautiful daughter, Thalia, whom he loved dearly. He loved cars, baseball, skateboarding, hanging out with his friends and family and raising his young daughter. He had just enlisted in the Army National Guard and was getting ready to leave for Boot Camp the morning after the crash.

On Easter Sunday April 16th, 2017 the driver of the vehicle KJ was a passenger in was Drunk and Driving. She was speeding and ran a red light and then crashed into another vehicle. KJ was ejected and sustained severe head injuries. After 9 days of life support the team at UNMH were unable to save him. He went home with Jesus April 25th 2017. The picture you see of KJ is the last picture taken with his daughter that Easter Sunday.  No family should ever have to endure this tragedy. Our hope is that we can spread the word and end drunk driving. Keep it simple, no one knows what alcohol level you are at after consuming a drink or two. Just don't. If you have even one drink, just one..........PLEASE, DON'T DRIVE.

This is why we walk.
