Why We Walk
JERMAINE DECUIRE CARTER
Home City: Zachary, Louisiana
Crash Anniversary: January 17, 2003
Jermaine was a Grambling State University football player and a Clinton High School Track Star with several LHSAA track state championships. He majored in criminal justice and often spoke about contributing to making the world a better place.
His life was tragically taken by a driver who decided to leave a bar driving intoxicated. His professional football career was also taken away. A few months after his death, the NFL Commissioner presented his SWAC championship ring to his mom. Jermaine loved football and running track, and he had a passion for working with race horses.
Jermaine has a son (J’Darius) and a daughter (Jermiah) who will graduate high school in 2021. Unfortunately, because a man decided to drive intoxicated; their father will not be here to witness this special moment. He left a family who misses him tremendously.
