Crash Anniversary: February 19, 2019
On February 19, 2019, at the age of 23 years, Anna-Marie Elizabeth Dalton lost her life when an impaired driver who was under the influence of drugs passed two cars crossing over the yellow double solid line and hit Anna's car head on. Anna was killed on impact while the impaired driver survived the crash.
Anna was taken from her family and friends in the prime of her life. She was a daughter, a sister to two siblings, a granddaughter, a niece, and a friend to many. Anna was full of life and had a smile that warmed everyone's hearts and loved children and animals. She was working two jobs to put herself through school to become an X-Ray Technician where she had planned to move to the Outer Banks. Anna would want her family and friends to put their energy into proactive positive efforts, and to bring awareness to the crime of drunk and drugged driving.
Anna’s family are honoring her memory by participating in the MADD Loudoun Walk Like MADD 5K Walk. Please join us to raise awareness and to and to prevent this senseless tragedy from happening to others.
Crash Anniversary: April 1980
Bonnie Wyland was a loving wife and mother, sister and aunt. We tell all her grandchildren about Grandma Bonnie, although she didn't live long enough to meet them. She would have loved them all dearly. She and my father were on their way home from a meeting in another town one evening. Mom was tired, and sleeping in the passenger seat, dad was driving. As they navigated a curve on a two-lane rural road, a drunk teenager crossed into their lane and hit them head on.
She was a great mom, very involved. She was our girl scout leader, activity organizer, picnic planner, bag lunch packer, and kept a loving and stable home. While the crash happened almost 40 years ago, I still wish I could call and ask her advice when my daughter doesn't listen to me or I want to chat about anything. I think about all the milestones she missed, all because someone had too much to drink and got behind the wheel of a car. This crash happened in April 1980 - MADD was formed in September that same year.

Emma Brown was killed in a drunk driving crash in the early morning of January 27, 2018. Her friend whole world changed when I got the phone call a few hours later. She lived in Wakefield, Rhode Island. Emma was only 21 years old, certainly taken too soon. She left behind her mom and dad, three brothers and a son. She was a supportive and comforting friend and loved all things nature.
