 Why We Walk

Ervin Antonio Rodas "Toño"

Home: Southern California

Crash Anniversary: May 16, 2021

Ervin Antonio's story: Ervin Antonio Rodas Lima, known as Toño, was a young man known for his strong personality and infectious laugh. He was an older brother not just to his siblings but to all his cousins and friends. He always tried to involve others and make the most out of everything. He made lifelong friends everywhere he went. He was an all around athlete and excelled at his studies. He was on the brink of graduating from UCSD with a degree in Biochemistry and accepted an invitation to complete a PhD program at the University of North Carolina, Chapel. We are all proud of the life he was building for himself and it was a true privilege to have shared memories with him. He truly lived his life to the fullest with a strong hardworking ethic and unmatched zest for life. Toño was an unfortunate victim to drunk driving on the night of May 16, 2021. He was returning home from a pickup basketball game when a driver under the influence hit his car at high speeds. Unfortunately, all his goals and aspirations were cut short and it is now our duty to spread awareness on the irreversible consequences of driving under the influence.
