ALICIA MARIE TAMBOIA

Home City: Dover Plains, NY

Crash Anniversary: July 4, 2014

Alicia Tamboia, 24, died on Saturday, July 5, 2014 as a victim of a drunk driving crash in Guilderland, NY.

Alicia was a lifelong Town of Dover resident, and a 2008 National Honor Society graduate of Dover High School who played on the softball, basketball and field hockey teams. She was also the Captain of the field hockey team during her senior year. She earned a B.A. from the University of Scranton in 2012 and was the captain of the field hockey team and manager of the men’s baseball team. As captain of the Scranton Field Hockey Team, Alicia organized events to raise money and awareness for domestic violence and breast cancer at her games. After graduation Alicia continued to raise money for a variety of charities including Pencils of Promise, an organization for underprivileged children that provides school supplies.

Alicia was an avid fan of Justin Bieber and dreamed of meeting him which she did several times. As his “Number One” fan, Alicia helped others obtain their dreams by purchasing tickets for the less fortunate and arranging “meet and greets” with Justin. Alicia enjoyed life to the fullest.

Alicia is greatly missed by her family and friends. They invite you to participate in the Westchester Walk Like MADD on Saturday, October 14th at FDR State Park in memory and honor of Alicia and all who have been impacted by drunk and impaired driving.
