Why We Walk

WHY WE WALK

Hector and Camilla (Mila) Garza

Crash Anniversary: October 2018

"It has been five years since I lost Mila and Hector in a car crash involving a drunk driver.  It is very hard for me to talk about my daughter and husband because wounds open up for me thinking about my loss.  I imagine that Mila would be starting kindergarten this coming term and looking forward to her many school adventures.  She would be a happy, gentle little girl with curly black hair and big hazel eyes, and the longest lashes.  I imagine Mila would be a daddy’s girl because Hector doted on our little girl.  Probably she would be enjoying playing with her friends, cousin, and family.  She and her daddy would be enjoying swimming, soccer, music, and concerts together.  She would probably be playing with our dog and taking walks with her daddy and me.  I would take her shopping and to tea parties with her friends.  Her grandmothers would be arguing about which side of the family she most resembles.  Hector and I would be looking forward to our future with our little girl.  Yes, Mila and Hector are very much missed by me.  Not a day passes that I wish their loss was just a bad dream.” – Kirsten Garza.

Hector and Camilla (Mila) Garza were killed by an impaired driver in Walnut Creek in October 2018.
