Why We Walk...Shanté Hanks

"6 minutes after I left my parents’ house, I was fighting for my life.  I was less than 2 miles from home when a driver under the influence of alcohol changed my life forever. The driver didn’t set out to end someone’s life that day; he just wanted to have a good time...at least that is what his friends told his mother. You do not want your family to receive a call or knock on their door informing them that you didn’t make it home because you had one too many and chose to get behind the wheel while under the influence of alcohol. If not for yourself, think of your family & friends and others on the road and DON’T DRINK & DRIVE! September 19th 3:06 am is the anniversary of my crash"
