We walk to create a future of No More Victims®
The 2022 Pittsburgh Walk like MADD event is MADD's signature fundraising event to help us raise both awareness and funds to eliminate drunk and drugged driving. We hope that you will rally with us in Pittsburgh, PA to help create a future of No More Victims®.
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
8:00 a.m. - Registration & Check In Opens
9:00 a.m. - Opening Ceremony Begins & fundraising awards presented
9:30 a.m. - Walk Steps Off (Optional)
9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. Family Activities at the Rose Barn
10:30 a.m. – Basket drawing and Closing
10:45 a.m. – Event Ends
Weather forecasts show that we’ll be getting thunderstorms the night before our event and possibly some showers during our event, with more thunderstorms to follow. As a result we have made the decision to move our event indoors.
We will be gathering at the Rose Barn across the street from the North Park Boat House. Our opening ceremony and walk-related activities will be set up inside, so please plan to park in the lots adjacent to the Rose Barn. See the image below for details.
Because of the impending weather, this year’s walk will be optional. You may choose to cross Pearce Mill Rd. and the Boat House parking lot to get to our marked Walk route, or you may choose to stay at the Rose Barn and take part in the activities set up there.
Online registration will close at 5:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon, but walkers can still register at the event on Sunday morning. Registration will open at 8:00 a.m.
We have just one (1) shirt color this year rather than the two listed on the Walk Like MADD Registration page. Shirts can be picked up on Sunday morning at the Registration table.
Additional donations you may have collected can also be turned in at the Registration table.
A painted rock memorial activity will be available at the Victim Tribute table, and MADD Victim Specialists will also be on hand for those attendees who may need some emotional support on the morning of our event.
Our basket giveaway will also take place at the Rose Barn. For a $1 donation, you can get a ticket to enter a drawing ($1 donation per ticket) for the basket of your choice. Baskets are put together and donated by our teams, and all funds raised by the basket drawing will go toward the fundraising pages of the teams who donated them.
Breakfast treats and refreshments will be on hand as well as coffee, juice and water.
We are grateful to Radar Martin from the band Hay Day for providing us with sound and entertainment again this year.
