EVENT AREAS:
Team Zone – Our Team Zone area is reserved for Walk Like MADD teams who have recruited at least 20 people for their teams or have raised over $1,000 before Monday, July 31st.

Teams who have qualified for tables in Team Zone have already been notified. Tables will be labeled with Team names.

Victim Tribute Area – Victim tribute activities will be located in our special Victim Services area of the event. Memorial activities will be available. MADD Victim Specialists will also be on hand in the Victim Services area for those attendees who may need some emotional support on the morning of our event.

Hospitality - Our friends at King Soopers are providing delicious snacks to help us get our day started. Fresh fruit, donuts, fruit and granola bars, drinks and water will be available to all attendees at no charge.

Kid Zone – Bubbles and bubbles and bubbles! Young walkers (and maybe adults too) will enjoy this year’s sudsy bubble-themed activities. Face painting will also be available.

Vendor Village – Visit our sponsors and vendors to learn about these great organizations and grab some fun giveaways.

DIRECTIONS:
Follow these easy directions to get to Walk Like MADD at Sloan’s Lake Park.

  • Take I-25 to Exit 210A / Colfax Ave.
  • Follow Colfax Ave. West to Sheridan Blvd.
  • Turn right onto Sheridan Blvd.
  • Turn right on 26th Ave.

Our event is located in the northeast corner of the park nearest to the intersection of 23rd Ave. and Stuart St.

PARKING:
Denver Parks and Rec has closed our access to Byron Pl. within the park. As such, we do not have a designated parking area for this year’s event. We will have a handful of reserved parking spaces for handicap parking. The entrance for handicap parking will be at the intersection of 24th Ave. and Stuart St. and a volunteer will be there to check you in should you need to access a handicap parking space. These spaces are available on a first come, first served basis.

Various small parking lots are located around the perimeter of Sloan’s Lake Park, and street parking is available on the streets surrounding Sloan’s Lake Park. If you park on a residential street, be sure to not block any driveways and to take note of any special permit parking areas.

To access the nearest street parking to our event:

  • From Sheridan Blvd., head east on 26th Ave.
  • Pass Sloan’s Lake park, and just a few blocks past the park turn right on Quitman St.
  • Turn right on 23rd Ave.
  • Turn left on Stuart St. and park on the right side of the road
  • You may also park on the residential streets to the east of Stuart St.

Please note that parking along 17th Ave. to the south of the park requires special permitting, and parking here may result in a parking citation. MADD strongly encourages you to NOT park on 17th Ave., but to utilize the residential streets off of 17th Ave. or off of Stuart St.

Denver Metro RTD is offering FREE rides on all bus and light rail lines throughout the month of August. Participants are encouraged to utilize public transportation, bike, or carpool to Sloan’s Lake Park. Visit www.rtd-denver.com to utilize RTD’s trip planning services.

We’re looking forward to seeing you on Saturday and having a great event!
