SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
7:00 a.m. - Registration & Check In Opens
7:00 a.m. - Vendors Open
8:30 a.m. - Opening Ceremony Begins
9:00 a.m. - Walk Steps Off
10:30 a.m. - Event Ends
VICTIM TRIBUTE
Activities prior to the start of the Walk will focus on honoring those killed or injured by drunk and drug-impaired drivers. Victim tribute activities will be located in our special Victim Services area of the event. Memorial activities will be available, and MADD Victim Specialists will also be on hand in the Victim Services area for those attendees who may need some emotional support on the morning of our event.
TEAM ZONE
Any team that has 20 or more team members registered prior to the Day of Event and/or has raised $1,000 or more by July 29th (the Monday before Walk Day) will be given a special table in Team Zone that can be used as a meeting spot for your team on the Day of Event. Teams awarded these special tables are encouraged to bring items to decorate this table and personalize it for your team and your team’s story. Teams will be notified on July 30th if they have qualified for a Team Zone table.
PARKING
We have limited parking for handicap attendees in the parking lot located Utica St. near the event site. Attendees with handicap plates or tags may access the lot via 17th Ave. and Utica St. A Walk Like MADD volunteer will be posted at the entrance to help guide traffic.
Various small parking lots are located around the perimeter of Sloan’s Lake Park, and street parking is available on the streets surrounding Sloan’s Lake Park. THERE IS NO STREET PARKING ON 17TH AVE. You may park on any of the North/South neighborhood streets south of 17th Ave. but BE SURE TO NOT BLOCK ANY DRIVEWAYS! Participants are encouraged to utilize public transportation, bike, or carpool to Sloan’s Lake Park. Visit www.rtd-denver.com to utilize RTD’s trip planning services.
