I will never forget my father yelling out in the middle of the night after the phone rang... He screamed until he was out of breath.
My beautiful sister Monica, at the age of 19, was gone. Forever.
A freshman at Villanova University, her life taken by a drunk driver. I think about her and what was supposed to be often...and I cry. Every time.
I have made it my personal mission to end this senseless crime and for countless of families - a horrific tragedy. NO ONE should go through what I an my family went through EVER again.
What am I doing?
I am participating in Walk Like MADD to raise mission critical funds for Mothers Against Drunk Driving® (MADD) to fight the 100 percent preventable crimes of drunk and drugged driving. Did you know that 2 out of 3 people will be impacted by a drunk driver in their lifetime? Walk Like MADD provides an outlet for those impacted by drunk and drugged driving to channel their grief into hope and healing and provides communities the chance to surround and support those hurting by taking action to prevent others from suffering.
How can I help? You can do your part by...
• Making a donation to help me reach my personal fundraising goal
• Walking alongside me to take steps to stop these violent crimes
• Spreading the word about Walk Like MADD by using the hashtags #NoMoreVictims #WalkLikeMADD #DrunkDrivingEndsHere.
Who is MADD?
Founded by a mother whose daughter was killed by a drunk driver, Mothers Against Drunk Driving® (MADD) is the nation’s largest nonprofit working to protect families from drunk driving, drugged driving and underage drinking. MADD also supports drunk and drugged driving victims and survivors at no charge through local MADD victim advocates and our 24-Hour Victim Helpline 1-877-MADD-HELP. Learn more at madd.org.
