Walk Like MADD

My name is Tess Rowland and I am participating in the Fort Walton Beach Walk Like MADD 2021 event to raise mission critical funds for Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) to fight the 100% preventable crimes of drunk and drugged driving. This event helps victims within the Panhandle region.

On my way to work on May 4, 2021 my life changed forever when I was hit by a wrong-way drunk and drugged driver in a head-on collision. I went from being someone who had never broken a bone in my life to someone who had suffered severe injuries to their shoulder, arm, elbow, and knee alongside internal injuries. I had five life-saving surgeries in nine days. Before my accident, I had been in top shape, training for a 15k race. Now, I'm fighting for the ability gain normal function of my body. To think, I am considered one of, “the lucky ones.” Now, I'm calling on you to help support my cause and prevent more victims...

Who is MADD? Founded by a mother whose daughter was killed by a drunk driver, Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) is the nation’s largest nonprofit working to end drunk driving, help fight drugged driving, support the victims of these violent crimes, and prevent underage drinking. MADD supports drunk and drugged driving victims and survivors at no charge through local MADD victim advocates and our 24-Hour Victim Helpline 1-877-MADD-HELP.  Learn more at madd.org
