Why We Walk

WHY WE WALK

Kyle Wible

Crash Anniversary: August 2011

In the late night in August 2011, Kyle's vehicle was hit head on by an impaired and distracted driver. It wasn't until the very early morning hours the next day that I received a phone call telling me that Kyle was in the operating room fighting for his life. Kyle did not survive and was taken from us by the impaired driver. This is an unimaginable nightmare of grief and despair that we have had to endure for the past 13 years because of someone else's choice. My oldest some was taken. Kyle was full of life and sarcasm. He was loving, adventurous, and family oriented. he had goals and plans for his life. He was the oldest of my four sons, a brother, a friend to everyone who knew him, he was loved by all. He is thought about and missed every day, and every day is a painful reminder that he is gone. I never got to say goodbye, I never got one last hug, I never got to tell him how much I loved him. The world will never know what his potential could have been. The reality that someone else's choice took away a loved one has sadly affected others in our community. They, too, are trying to navigate this same loss. His family will continue to Walk like MADD, we will fight, and we will be his voice, ensuring his life and his story are never forgotten. It is our hope that nor more families will have to know the loss and pain of losing a loved one because of a preventable choice.
