Walk Like MADD will be located on the east side of Memorial Park next to the Peace Officers Memorial.
REGISTRATION AND PRIZES :
Online registration will close at 5:00 p.m. Friday afternoon, but walkers can still register at the event on Saturday morning. Registration will open at 7:30 a.m. at Memorial Park.
We are not giving away event T-shirts this year, but instead, we have MADD Sling Bags for all registered participants. These make a convenient and fun way to carry your belongs, whether around your waist or across your body.
You must be registered for the event to receive a Sling Bag. They can be picked up by checking in at Registration when you arrive. Use the image below to see where Registration and other event areas are located!
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:
7:30 a.m. - Registration & Check In Opens
7:30 a.m. - Vendors Open
8:30 a.m. - Opening Ceremony Begins
9:00 a.m. - Walk Steps Off
10:30 a.m. - Event Ends
Please take note - we have moved up our opening ceremony and Walk step off by 30 minutes this year.
EVENT AREAS:
Victim Tribute Area – Victim tribute activities will be located in our special Victim Services area of the event. Memorial activities will be available. MADD Victim Specialists will also be on hand in the Victim Services area for those attendees who may need some emotional support on the morning of our event.
Hospitality - Our friends at King Soopers are providing delicious snacks to help us get our day started. Fresh fruit, donuts, fruit and granola bars, drinks and water will be available to all attendees at no charge.
Kid Zone – Bubbles and bubbles and bubbles! Young walkers (and maybe adults too) will enjoy this year’s sudsy bubble-themed activities. Face painting will also be available.
Vendor Village – Visit our sponsors and vendors to learn about these great organizations and grab some fun giveaways.
DIRECTIONS:
Follow these easy directions to get to Walk Like MADD at Memorial Park.
- Take I-25 to the Highway 24 Exit towards Limon (Exit 139)
- Follow the exit East toward Union Blvd.
- Take a slight right for the exit toward Union Blvd.
- Turn left at Union Blvd. (stop light)
- Follow Union Blvd. north to Memorial Park
Our event is located on the east side of Memorial Park just off of Union Blvd. next to the Peace Officer’s Memorial.
PARKING:
There are several parking lots within Memorial Park that will allow easy access to Walk Like MADD.
To access the closest lots:
- Continuing from the directions above: Off of Union Blvd., turn left (west) into Memorial Park approximately 700 feet past Airport Rd.
- The turn in for the parking lot is not named.
- Look for the tall off-white Veteran’s Memorial tower on the left in Memorial Park. That is the turn in.
(If you get to the large white Velodrome (bubble-shaped building), you have gone too far and need to turn around.) - After turning into Memorial Park, there will be a fork in the road at the tower
- Turn left to access the lot closest to the event set up, next to the playground.
- Turn right to access the larger overflow parking lot on the north side of the Veteran’s Memorial tower
